What is The VIGA Table at The Market?

In our effort to expand access to local food, we created the VIGA table - a place where backyard growers and full time farmers can sell their produce (and flowers!).  You just drop off your food and we’ll sell it for you! Here’s how it works: 

Getting ready to participate: 

  • You must be a member of VIGA to participate at the VIGA table. Sign here.

  • No insurance? No problem! You’re covered by VIGA’s insurance. However, if you are using our insurance, you cannot display your farm’s signage at the table. 

  • Please make sure you have researched the items you are bringing to the VIGA table and ensure you have the right licensing to do so. For instance, no dried goods can be accepted at the VIGA table. There is great information here and here.  

  • Every participating grower is required to volunteer at the table one time per year. Before your first drop off, be sure to sign up here.

Day of logistics:

  • Have your goods to the Market by 9:45am. 

  • Each of your items need to have a SKU sticker with a price included (these will be provided to you ahead of time!). 

  • Pick up of leftover goods is at 3pm. You can also opt to donate any leftover to our preservation committee which will preserve and distribute the food. Please note - we are unable to preserve leafy greens, so if you opt to donate leafy greens, these will be handed out to vendors, volunteers, etc.

The money: 

  • To keep costs neutral, all growers at the table are assessed an 8% fee which is passed along to our Market Manager. These fees will be held back from your monthly check. 

  • For both the VIGA Table and Flower table, checks will be available at the VIGA table on the 1st Saturday of each month. 

Flower Co-Op Table: This year we have launched a flowers only co-op table July-September. May - June: keep bringing your flowers to the VIGA Table and July - September, pop next door to the Flower Table! 

  • Sales Tax: Please make sure the price point of your bouquets includes sales tax and note this in your signage. We will not be adding sales tax at the point of sale. You are responsible for filing and paying sales tax to the Dept of Revenue - VIGA does not do this.
