Grain Growing Workshop

  • Vashon Library 17210 Vashon Highway Southwest Vashon, WA, 98070 United States (map)

Wheat, rye, barley and other grains can grow well on Vashon Island and varieties that thrive west of the Cascades are increasingly available. This year VIGA with support from King Conservation District secured commercial grade equipment to clean, mill and store the grain making local grain production viable.

To find out more about including grain as one of your crops attend this info session with local grain growers and Steve Lyon WSU’s Bread Lab plant breeder.
