In an informal presentation starting about 7:00, Larry will talk about Fukuoka’s final book, “Sowing Seeds in the Desert.” Larry will talk about Fukuoka’s philosophy and farming techniques, and introduce his plan to revegetate the deserts of the world.
Larry worked and studied with Mr Fukuoka on his farm in Japan for more than two years in the 1970s. In addition to translating both “The One-Straw Revolution” and “Sowing Seeds in the Desert,” Larry also was one of the editors of the Tilth Association’s book, “The Future Is Abundant.” Larry now lives in Ashland, Oregon where he gives workshops about natural farming, permaculture, local food production, and building strong resilient communities.
