Larry Korn, editor of Masanobu Fukuoka’s “The One-Straw Revolution,” will give a free presentation Saturday evening in the Common House at Vashon Cohousing, 10421 SW Bank Rd, beginning with a community potluck at 6:00 PM.

In an informal presentation starting about 7:00, Larry will talk about Fukuoka’s final book, “Sowing Seeds in the Desert.” Larry will talk about Fukuoka’s philosophy and farming techniques, and introduce his plan to revegetate the deserts of the world.

Larry worked and studied with Mr Fukuoka on his farm in Japan for more than two years in the 1970s. In addition to translating both “The One-Straw Revolution” and Sowing Seeds in the Desert,” Larry also was one of the editors of the Tilth Association’s book, “The Future Is Abundant.”  Larry now lives in Ashland, Oregon where he gives workshops about natural farming, permaculture, local food production, and building strong resilient communities.

Again, the community potluck will begin at 6:00 PM and Larry’s presentation will be from about 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Guests are asked to park on Bank Road.
